![]() ![]() I thought I'd make a post about it, since it helped me a lot. Requires: Intel 80286 or compatible CPU 4MB of RAM 6MB of hard disk space. ago by MyNinjasPwn Bitsum Process Lasso raised my performance by 20-40 fps in populated areas I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but I just learned about it in a different thread. 5. On balance, we rate Systat for Windows' data management very good. 4.) Alt tab, and go back to Process Lasso and click on the 'Active Processes' tab. Once you install it, just make sure you set the power profile for each game to "bitsum highest performance" in Process Lasso. 1.) Download and install Process Lasso: 2.) Open Process Lasso, go to 'Main' tab and make sure 'ProBalance' is enabled. Its an app that allows you to unlock all of your cores and threads using their "Bitsum highest performance" power setting without having to tamper with the registry. Both of these features can be accessed in Process Lasso. There is also another application you can use as well called Park Control, which is from the same company that made process lasso. ![]() As described in the previous section game engines are limited in the amount of CPU threads they can use so you are not losing anything. By disabling cores/threads you can see improvements in clockspeeds and thermals. ![]() It should be doing this automatically since its a foreground process, but you can still put in on an exclusion list just to be sure. Process Lasso allows you to control how many cores/threads a program is able to use in Windows. You can even set exclusions for specific applications from these features, such as your games. This is something you can check just to make sure this isn't happening to you by typing "resource monitor" in the search bar. You can also use the Pro balance feature that essentially performs a similar function, except it lowers the priority setting of background applications that start hogging all the threads. So I use Smart Trim to erase the standby memory every minute. For instance, I found that windows wasn't properly freeing up the cache standby memory, hogging up almost all the ram. You can use the 'smart trim' feature which is a ram management algorithm that tells background processes to "trim" its working sets to keep memory free'd up. You can use Process Lasso to ensure that your system only uses the physical cores of your processor, and avoid logical ones (Hyper-Threading), by using the CPU. Well you can do a lot more than that with process lasso. I also use process lasso to make sure the predecessor affinity is ok and check my cpu cores. ![]()
